Attaining a freedom was not enough; India was facing various issues such as poverty, unemployment and so on. Furthermore, in 1952, solution oriented Rohan Lal Chaturvedi getting inspired from Gandhi and Vinoba Bhave’s Bhoodan movement founded the Sarvodaya Ashram in Etah, Uttar Pradesh as a society with the avowed aim of institutionalizing. A movement with a belief to set up a people powered organization that could not only generate employment but also carry on the legacy of the freedom movement into modern India.

As a chairperson, he has consolidated the movement into a more cohesive, systematized form, creating a robust structure in anticipation of a more ‘professional’ future.
